Groupon Should Not Be Trusted Without A Well Formed Plan

I thought that Groupon was pretty much a turn-key system, but business owners might disagree. Read the remainder of my blog entry for more info.

iTalkBB Service May Be Declining

I have an update for my iTalkBB internet phone service recommendation. In the last month, we have had about 3-5 phone calls which did not come through clearly. It seems that either we or the other party could not hear. I do not know who is to blame, though. Other than that, it all seems to be working okay still.

An Article Spells Out The Dangers Of Over Committing To Groupons

I already linked to articles that basically said the same thing, but this article seems to spell it out in more detail.

The news is not all bad, though. This short discussion illustrates how you can turn Groupons into a profitable opportunity: let the client pay you for a service, while you upsell, so that the client is essentially paying you to upsell. You can find more ideas in the entire discussion.

Selling Your Products And Liquidating

Fortunately, there are places where you can sell your products for free. Unfortunately, businesses often fail. Fortunately, you can liquidate your stuff at the same places that you sold your products for free.

There is another site that was not mentioned: List4All.

Remember, if you create things for a hobby, you can sell them on those sites.

Market Research Techniques

Unfortunately, it seems that I do not have enough assets or money to purchase a business. It is not surprising considering that I am broke. That should not prevent me from starting a business, though. I just need to find out what the market needs, via market research. Until I gain enough to buy a business, or until I stumble upon a new business opportunity, I can conduct market research to see what people are looking for.

Considering If There Is Potential For Business

Lately, I have been trying to figure out what I need to start a business. It seems that this checklist of ingredients for a marketing plan helps us to know whether we have what it takes to make a successful business. I will use this checklist when I discover a new hobby, interest, or skill. The idea is that if I am going to do something, then I might as well, at least, consider whether or not there are opportunities for profit to pay for the hobby, or just be an income opportunity.

Group Purchase Sites Not Automatically Recommended For Business

Some of you might recall that I recommended Groupon, Wagjag, and other group purchase sites, for advertising, as well as purchasing goods and services. However I may have been a bit hasty. Read the remainder of the blog entry for an updated view, and for links for more reading.

iTalkBB For Internet Phone Service

A while ago, my brother decided to switch to internet phone service [i.e. VOIP]. At first, he tried to go with Shaw, since he was getting cable service and internet service from them. Unfortunately, he did not get that working, so he tried iTalkBB. He loved it so much that he managed to convince us to get it. Read the remainder of the blog entry for my thoughts on the service.

You can also read the update.

Group Discount Web Sites

Earlier on, I mentioned Groupon and Wag Jag. Here is more information on the other web sites out there. Most of them are US focused, so Canadians should not spend too much time on these pages that I shared below, but it would be worth looking into, to see if you could benefit. Maybe you could create a better group web site, since these sites are beginning to saturate the market.

So far, Groupon seems to be my favourite overall pick.
