The Nature And Rules Of Miracles

I think that the concept of miracles within the context of the Bible needs a little bit of defining. I encourage people to read about miracles, before proceeding, but that page is huge. Read the remainder of this blog entry to see what I think.

Yogen Fruz At Central City Still Not Open But Still Not Closed

I went to Central City on Jan. 26, 2011, and since I was already there, I checked in with customer service. They are still not open, and there is still no new information about whether they will reopen or close. At least, there is still a chance.

Group Purchase Sites Not Automatically Recommended For Business

Some of you might recall that I recommended Groupon, Wagjag, and other group purchase sites, for advertising, as well as purchasing goods and services. However I may have been a bit hasty. Read the remainder of the blog entry for an updated view, and for links for more reading.

I Recommend The IBM Model M Keyboard

I love good keyboards. They are comfortable to type with, and they have a really decent resistance. I read that the IBM Model M keyboard is the way to go. If you see 1 of these at a garage sale, then hold on to it or resell it. Do not take my word for it, though. Read more about it.

God Permits Suffering: We Are To Focus On Blessings

I am struggling to find work, status, and a relationship. It is so humiliating and painful for me. I consider it to be a great adversity. I think that I finally understand the purpose of suffering in general.

These verses are from Job 35.

9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make [the oppressed] to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10 But none saith, Where [is] God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

In those chapters, Elihu corrected Job, saying that Job needed to adjust his attitude. Elihu's comments were not about Job's attitude before the adversity. It was about Job's attitude during the adversity. In other words, Elihu says that we need to remember God's blessings during our adversity instead of focusing on the negatives.

This seems meaningful to me. We ought not be pitiful people who ask, Yeah, but what do I get out of it?. After all, God sends rain on the good and the evil. The rain is a figurative curse and a literal blessing for both good and evil. We should really take that to heart, and then praise God for the benefits of rain, even when we get too much of it. In my personal situation, I should tell people about my current sufferings, and then mention the great times that I have had in life.

iTalkBB For Internet Phone Service

A while ago, my brother decided to switch to internet phone service [i.e. VOIP]. At first, he tried to go with Shaw, since he was getting cable service and internet service from them. Unfortunately, he did not get that working, so he tried iTalkBB. He loved it so much that he managed to convince us to get it. Read the remainder of the blog entry for my thoughts on the service.

Yogen Fruz At Central City Not Open

I love Yogen Fruz. So, when I went to downtown Surrey, this past Thursday, and dropped resumes off at the mall, I was so disappointed that I could not treat myself to some strawberry frozen yogurt. I asked the customer service centre about it, and the lady said that the mall does not know what is happening. They heard that Yogen Fruz had problems with the city of Surrey. Hopefully, they will come back into full swing. I mention all of this, so that you could be warned, if you intend to go there for a treat.

Forget "Earning Your Way Into Heaven"

I am currently listening to some Christian debates on YouTube. It seems that Christians have the tendency to avoid claiming that good people will go to hell.

As it is, non-Christians have the tendency to believe that many people out there are good, and that good people are entitled to heaven, if heaven exists. As it is, Christians believe that we are disqualified from heaven, because we are sinful, and that we only get to heaven by the blood of Christ and repentance, etc. The idea is that everybody believes 1 of those 2 things, and everybody already knows that the other person believes it. Therefore, why argue about it? I think that everybody's time could be better spent if we move on.

I think Christians tend to avoid saying that good people go to hell, because it seems like such an insensitive thing. It would be like telling your sweet old grandmother whom you love so much that she is filthy. Who would want to do that?

If they want to hear us say it to make us look bad, then say it, and then move on. This is a discussion of morals, and not a visit to a seniors home or a funeral.
