My Ankles Can't Touch

When my knees point straight forward, my ankles cannot touch. I found that so surprising. I remember an army buddy of mine telling me that I had bow legs, but I did not believe him. I only thought to look up the information now. I guess that I was kind of wrong.

He was wrong too. According to the definitions, bow legs are when your knees cannot touch.

I was wrong in that I thought that my legs were straight and normal. It turns out that I probably have knock knees. Some photos and discussion might help to explain it.

I wonder bow legs and knock knees affect physical coordination. If it does, then that would explain a lot.

Please Be Careful With Our Garbage

People might wonder what the big deal is about releasing helium balloons into the sky. After all, it is such an emotional thing to do in memory of dead people.

The problem is much of our debris kills and hurts animals for a long time. The good responsible Christian thing for freedom loving people to do is always dispose of our things in the proper garbages or proper facilities. We are supposed to be good stewards of the planet.

My Thoughts On The Stanford Experiment.

There was an experiment done in Stanford, almost 40 years ago. They tried to simulate a prison environment. There is a discussion on another web site. Here is a comment that I made.

Women, Men, And Weddings

If women really loved men, then the women should be willing to give up an expensive wedding to be with the guy.

I Stopped Taking Cipralex

Yesterday, I called the work counsellor, but she did not want to see me until 3 months have passed. Even then, I would need a referral.

I felt that it was not worth the risk to buy pills that could potentially do damage to my body. I do not even know if any of these people would be helpful to me.

In the next 3 months, I would need to get a job to buy pills and to have an income. What would be the point of taking the pills to get counselling, if I would have a job to pay for the pills? I might as well just get a job and keep it. Unfortunately, I need job!

I have some left over sample pills, but I will not take them, unless I get interested them again.

Cipralex Results After 1 Week

So far, I do feel better, but it is all subjective. I also feel worse in some ways, because my job situation just feels more and more hopeless each day. Also, the doctor said that I will not feel anything until quite a while, so any good feelings are probably coincidental. At least, I do not feel any side effects, other than what is described in the consumer information.

Using Cipralex To Deal With Depression

I began taking Cipralex just a few hours ago, after midnight.

I will be blogging about my experiences with this drug. If you would like to learn more and/or follow me on my journey of dealing with depression, then subscribe. Read the remainder of my blog entry for more info on how I got the pills and my thoughts about it.

Have you ever heard skeptics comment about how Christ could not have died on Friday, and risen on Sunday? A while ago, I came across this explanation about did die for 3 days and 3 nights. I remember being taught this in Bible college, but nobody else seemed to believe in it.

Kubuntu Problems With MS Core Fonts Solved

It is a shame that we still have to struggle with fonts in this day and age. It turns out that Kubuntu 10.04 users need install ttf-mscorefonts-installer-3.2, as opposed to ttf-mscorefonts-installer-3.2ubuntu0.1.

iTalkBB Service May Be Declining

I have an update for my iTalkBB internet phone service recommendation. In the last month, we have had about 3-5 phone calls which did not come through clearly. It seems that either we or the other party could not hear. I do not know who is to blame, though. Other than that, it all seems to be working okay still.

An Article Spells Out The Dangers Of Over Committing To Groupons

I already linked to articles that basically said the same thing, but this article seems to spell it out in more detail.

The news is not all bad, though. This short discussion illustrates how you can turn Groupons into a profitable opportunity: let the client pay you for a service, while you upsell, so that the client is essentially paying you to upsell. You can find more ideas in the entire discussion.

Better Understanding Of The Resurrection

Here is an excellent video that gives great information about the burial process of the Lord Jesus Christ, and his resurrection. 1 thing that I found so fascinating is that the substances created an epoxy that hardened like cement. You will need to fast forward to about 14:57.

Acer Aspire 5100 Web Cam With Kubuntu 10.04

I tried it out just the other day. Without any configuration, I managed to record a YouTube video. Without any configuration, I was able to use Kubuntu software, to capture the stream, but for some strange reason, it would not record. I tried following instructions on the web, but I do not know how to solve this problem.

If you have any questions or suggestions, then please comment below.

More Photo Progress For Railway Photos

Jonas Lee Photography made more progress yesterday. I am confident that we have enough photos for the preconstruction phase of the new home of the FVHRS. I hope that we can get a few more, but I do not think that there is much more to record.

More Info Regarding Opera's Font Problem

It seems that the font is Bitstream Sans Vera [bold oblique, or whatever it is called]. I noticed a font problem in Konqueror, also. I am convinced that this is an operating system level problem, or desktop environment level problem.

I improved the situation by deleting the font completely. The problem is still there, but the web pages are much more usable. I will continually use the same work around as mentioned in an earlier blog entry, but at least, I will not have to, if I do not want to.

I noticed a peculiar thing, when I deleted the font. The default font seemed to turn into FreeSerif. It is as if the software expected the chosen font to be at a certain place, and when Bitstream Sans Vera was deleted, they all moved up a space, while the software kept looking in the same place.

If you know what is going on, then please comment.

Opera Web Browser's Font Problem

For quite some time, I struggled with getting Opera to stop displaying everything in a bold italic sans serif font. I tried everything.

On Sunday early morning, I upgraded to 11.01 [build 1190], and then played around with the fonts, and it seemed to have worked. I do not know what I did, but I was playing around with "Font-family sans-serif", in the preferences dialog. It was finally set to FreeSans.

I booted up the computer again, before lunch, and it went back to the sans serif italic bold.

I do not understand it, at all.

My Desktop Computer Works Again

Yesterday, I managed to get it working by replacing the memory sticks. Because I earned this while volunteering with Freegeek, they gladly replaced the memory sticks for free.

It is such a relief, since I am not well off. It is good to be using the computer again.

I took a look at a saved web browser session, and it seems that I have not used this since Jan. 9, 2011. It's hard to believe that I have been using my laptop for so long. It's amazing how we can become so used to something. Time begins to fly, and the next thing we know, we have wasted so much time.

I Stopped Fasting

I gave up fasting on Friday morning, because I gave up on waiting for a decent source of income. I am starting to think that I need to wait a while for better opportunities. I plan to see a career counselor. In the mean time, I will keep writing, and I will start learning Silverlight.

On a positive note, I made about $160 on the stock market, this week.

I Started Fasting

It is more of a personal hunger strike, than a spiritual/religious activity. I am a little bit upset about my lack of work, so I intend to not eat, until I find a decent source of income. The last time that I ate was on April 5, 2011, at supper. I might have eaten sunflower seeds after.

Tonight, I had a pint of Guinness beer, and that is all that I have taken in that wasn't pure water. I do not recall ever fasting for so long.

Free WHMIS Certification And Training

Usually, WHMIS is taught after hiring, but often times, prospective employers require that we have this training and certification before applying for work. Not having it can really eliminate a lot of great job opportunities.

I found free WHMIS training and certification. I think that it took me less than an hour. Other web sites seem to only give you free training, and make you pay for the certification.

Golden Spoon: A New Frozen Yogurt Store In Surrey, Richmond, And Coquitlam

It seems like we will not have to suffer without our own frozen yogurt store. Now that Yogen Fruz has pulled out without giving us any news, I hope to check out Golden Spoon.

If you have tried it, then let me know what you think. I am a bit concerned about the taste. I think that their strawberry frozen yogurt might not have that strong, but approachable, sour taste.

Some US postal workers shared 11 difficulties and successes of their jobs. I found it very fascinating. What they have to put up with is amazing.

Yogen Fruz At Central City Didn't Renew Contract

Yogen Fruz's site confirms it. They did more for Central City Shopping Centre, than the mall did for them, I think. I'm very sad to see them go. I'm upset that they have not kept in touch with their customers. I consider that to be very poor customer service. I also blame the mall for not working harder with them, to keep them here. Read the remainder of the blog entry for alternative Yogen Fruz locations, and to share your alternative favourite frozen yogurt brands.

Considering If There Is Potential For Business

Lately, I have been trying to figure out what I need to start a business. It seems that this checklist of ingredients for a marketing plan helps us to know whether we have what it takes to make a successful business. I will use this checklist when I discover a new hobby, interest, or skill. The idea is that if I am going to do something, then I might as well, at least, consider whether or not there are opportunities for profit to pay for the hobby, or just be an income opportunity.

Status Of Yogen Fruz At Central City Still Unchanged

I phoned Yogen Fruz, at Central City on Jan. 31, 2011. Their phone number does not seem to work. I also phoned Central City. They are still not open, and there is still no new information about whether they will reopen or close. At least, there is still a chance.

I sent an email to the company, sent a message to their Twitter account, and left a message on their Facebook wall. I will keep you updated. I have a feeling that they will not respond, though.

Group Purchase Sites Not Automatically Recommended For Business

I love good keyboards. They are comfortable to type with, and they have a really decent resistance. I read that the IBM Model M keyboard is the way to go. If you see 1 of these at a garage sale, then hold on to it or resell it. Do not take my word for it, though. Read more about it.

God Permits Suffering: We Are To Focus On Blessings

I am struggling to find work, status, and a relationship. It is so humiliating and painful for me. I consider it to be a great adversity. I think that I finally understand the purpose of suffering in general.

These verses are from Job 35.

9 By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make [the oppressed] to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10 But none saith, Where [is] God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
11 Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

In those chapters, Elihu corrected Job, saying that Job needed to adjust his attitude. Elihu's comments were not about Job's attitude before the adversity. It was about Job's attitude during the adversity. In other words, Elihu says that we need to remember God's blessings during our adversity instead of focusing on the negatives.

This seems meaningful to me. We ought not be pitiful people who ask, Yeah, but what do I get out of it?. After all, God sends rain on the good and the evil. The rain is a figurative curse and a literal blessing for both good and evil. We should really take that to heart, and then praise God for the benefits of rain, even when we get too much of it. In my personal situation, I should tell people about my current sufferings, and then mention the great times that I have had in life.

iTalkBB For Internet Phone Service

A while ago, my brother decided to switch to internet phone service [i.e. VOIP]. At first, he tried to go with Shaw, since he was getting cable service and internet service from them. Yogen Fruz At Central City Not Open

I love Yogen Fruz. So, when I went to downtown Surrey, this past Thursday, and dropped resumes off at the mall, I was so disappointed that I could not treat myself to some strawberry frozen yogurt. I asked the customer service centre about it, and the lady said that the mall does not know what is happening. They heard that Yogen Fruz had problems with the city of Surrey. Hopefully, they will come back into full swing. I mention all of this, so that you could be warned, if you intend to go there for a treat.

Forget "Earning Your Way Into Heaven"

I am currently listening to some Christian debates on YouTube. It seems that Christians have the tendency to avoid claiming that good people will go to hell.

As it is, non-Christians have the tendency to believe that many people out there are good, and that good people are entitled to heaven, if heaven exists. As it is, Christians believe that we are disqualified from heaven, because we are sinful, and that we only get to heaven by the blood of Christ and repentance, etc. The idea is that everybody believes 1 of those 2 things, and everybody already knows that the other person believes it. Therefore, why argue about it? I think that everybody's time could be better spent if we move on.

I think Christians tend to avoid saying that good people go to hell, because it seems like such an insensitive thing. It would be like telling your sweet old grandmother whom you love so much that she is filthy. Who would want to do that?

If they want to hear us say it to make us look bad, then say it, and then move on. This is a discussion of morals, and not a visit to a seniors home or a funeral.
